CPD endorsement

ACWA endorses quality training programs that met the professional development needs of our members and assists them to provide better services.

With the rapid advances and changes that occur in community services, continuing professional development (CPD) is an essential part of a community worker’s career. For this reason, our members must complete a minimum of 20 hours of CPD per year.

Members want to make sure that their training money is well spent and ACWA CPD endorsement gives them assurance that the training is targeted to their needs, meets a professional standard, is an acceptable CPD activity, and provides value for money.

For providers, our endorsements enhances your marketing by building credibility and visibility.

Gaining endorsement

We endorse high quality CPD activities relevant to the provision of community services. Training may be in the form of a short course, workshop, conference, online course, webinar or in-house training.

The cost for applying for CPD endorsement is $250 per activity. A discount is available if applying for more than 3 activities. The endorsement period is 12 months.

We will assess your training against several criteria which include content, course structure and trainer qualification.

Please submit the following documents with your application:

  • Trainer/presenter resumes (including 2 Referees)
  • Detailed program outline
  • If applicable, marketing material for ACWA use (ie. program flyer)

Once endorsement is given, you will have the right to use the ACWA Endorsed CPD logo. We will alert members and subscribers to the endorsement and add your CPD to the list on our website. We also send out a monthly email featuring upcoming CPD events. We do not market for you but wherever possible we will support and complement your own marketing strategy.
