Fundamental to our role is the protection of educational, fieldwork and practice standards to ensure community workers are well prepared for practice.
Over many years ACWA has been instrumental in establishing standards related to the provision of community worker education and training in Australia. We are an active member of a number of state and commonwealth government Industry Reference Committees, Technical Advisory Committees, Industry Advisory Committees and course advisory committees. ACWA holds a Memorandum of Understanding with both post-secondary education regulators namely ASQA and TEQSA.
As a professional association ACWA offers accreditation to education providers who meet our standards and wish to gain third party approval for their courses. We accredit formal qualifications at a diploma level and higher.
ACWA also endorses professional development training relevant to members. We endorse online and face to face training including short courses, workshops, and conferences.
