In July 2023 Darwin will find itself hosting the World Community Development Conference ‘From the Edge’, as hundreds of community development workers from across the globe converge to exchange knowledge, stories and experiences of their everyday work and its impact on social justice and community wellbeing.
We are delighted to report that ACWA will be the local host and partner of this important event. And, as the local host, ACWA members are eligible for discounted registration.
Organised by the International Association for Community Development (IACD), the World Community Development Conference is an annual global gathering of practitioners and stakeholders, and Australia has been selected as the host nation for 2023.
This is exciting news in and of itself. As well as making it easier for local practitioners to attend this pre-eminent event, the conference is expected to attract 500-600 delegates from over 20 nations.
Registration is now open. Don’t forget: all current ACWA members can get the ACWA discount. Members and non-members alike who register before 31 December 2022 can also get an early-bird special.
We look forward to delivering the conference in partnership with IACD, Jeder Institute and Catalyse (New Zealand), and to seeing you there.
