Complaints and appeals
The Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) has provision for members of the public to make a formal complaint against a member of ACWA. Please read the Complaints document carefully.
ACWA's National Executive Committee (NEC) has determined a set of criteria against which an application for membership or a skills assessment is assessed. In the case of an adverse assessment any applicant has the right to an appeal. The NEC takes its responsibility in this regard seriously and has the following procedures in place to ensure a fair and equitable appeal process. Such an application should be made in writing within 28 days of receiving notification from ACWA. An appeal will attract a fee of $150 to cover re-assessment and administrative costs. The fee is payable before an appeal assessment commences.
