Students

We welcome students of welfare and community work in Australia to apply to be members of the association. Only students enrolled in an ACWA approved course are eligible to join as Student Members.

Benefits

Student Members gain recognition and can access many of the benefits of membership.

  • Quarterly newsletters about the association and industry
  • Networking opportunities
  • Resources and discount subscriptions
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Representation at a national level

Representation

Students are represented at branch and national executive levels by student representatives.

The role of student representatives is to advise the branch and national executives of the ACWA of issues which impact students and/or the community services sector.

As a Student Member, you can be elected as a student representative and have full voting rights for the 50 students (or part thereof) that you represent.

For more information, see Become a member.

Assessment for Skilled Migration

If you have completed studies in community and welfare work, your qualifications can be assessed for the purpose of migration to Australia.
