What is a provisionally approved course?

A course may be under Provisional Approval if:

  • It has been assessed as meeting basic requirements and less than six months has passed since the application has been assessed, or
  • there are issues identified by ACWA which are still to be resolved at the end of the usual six months Provisional Approval period.

ACWA’s assessors will monitor provisionally approved courses and, by the end of the provisional approval period, either grant full approval, grant an extension to provisional approval or deny full approval to the course.

Extensions to provisional approval will not affect the recognition of a course for ACWA membership eligibility or assessment of qualifications for migration purposes.

Current students or those considering enrolling in courses where Provisional Approval has lapsed are advised to contact the Education Provider to ascertain if an application has been made for Full Approval.
