Code of Ethics
It is a requirement of most professions that its members work to a code of ethics. In the case of community work practitioners this is fundamental because their work is with some of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of people in our society.
A code of ethics is an explicit document that lays down the expectations of a professional working in the field. The ACWA code of ethics sets the tenor for exemplary community work practice and is a benchmark for all members. The code was developed by the founders of the association and is as relevant today as a guide for every day ethical practice as it was in its inception.
Australian Community Workers Association members agree to the ACWA Code of ethics and demonstrate adherence to the code in every aspect of their professional life..
