Australian Community Workers Association Australian Community Workers Association

About

ACWA leads the development, identity, registration and recognition of the community work profession in Australia.

Community workers are the skilled practitioners who work in community services to facilitate the welfare and wellbeing of people and communities.

We are the professional association that exists to support these professionals. We also set the training, ethical and professional standards for this essential work.

We work closely with education providers to ensure aspiring community workers have access to high quality training and the public have confidence in the profession.

As a not-for-profit membership organisation, we represent the interests of members and advocate on their behalf. Qualified community workers can register with us to demonstrate their professional standing, as well as to benefit from our support.
