Enhancing Emotional Wellbeing in Late Life - Practical Strategies

This is an ACWA endorsed CPD program offered by Wise Care Pty Ltd.

Most older adults will age without emotional and cognitive changes. However, those with increasing levels of physical support needs, reduced support networks and cognitive changes are more likely to experience emotional changes. Undetected and untreated symptoms may lead to the most common psychological conditions in late life, namely depression and anxiety and an increased risk of suicide. At present the highest rates of suicide in Australia are in men aged 85+ years.

This six hour training aims to increase participant’s knowledge of emotional wellbeing in late life and confidence in improving social engagement with their clients.

The training will empower practitioners to better understand when and how to escalate concerns about client wellbeing, improve engagement with socially isolated clients who may experience loneliness and to embed a strengths based approach to service delivery by curating social goals.
