Child Aware Conference 2019


16-17 May 2019, Brisbane

Families Australia, supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, is hosting the 6th Child Aware Conference at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, 16-17 May 2019.

The conference aims to advance the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children, the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children, and the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Thought leaders will stimulate discussion on how to make Australia an even better place for children and young people now and into the future. Presentations will cover five key themes:
  • Improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children
  • Improving access to prevention and early intervention
  • Improving placement stability for children and young people in out-of-home care
  • Keeping children and young people safe from abuse
  • Strengthening our focus on well-being beyond 2020
The conference will be interactive to promote sharing of ideas about furthering the national policy agenda and developing new solutions to complex issues affecting children, young people and their families.
